Located in the Jewish quarter, the Great Synagogue of Budapest is an icon of Jewish culture and neo-Arabic architecture.

History

Built between 1854 and 1859, the Great Synagogue in Budapest serves as a place of worship for the Jewish community of Budapest. During the Second World War, it was severely damaged but survived, unlike many other buildings in the city that were destroyed.
