    Very good, the guide was really fun and told us a lot about Rome. One star less because sometimes was difficult to hear and sometimes was lowering the tone of voice skipping words. Except that amazing tour.

The Piazza di Spagna, at the foot of the Spanish Steps, is one of Rome's most iconic squares.

The origin of the name

The Piazza di Spagna (Square of Spain) is named as such because it has been home to the Embassy of Spain since 1647.

Visit the Piazza di Spagna to enjoy wonderful architecture, and splendid luxurious boutiques, as well as the Pietro Bernini-designed Fontana della Barcaccia. Once you've seen the square, be sure to climb the Spanish Steps, at the top of which you'll find the Church of Trinità dei Monti.

Babington's English-style tea room

On the square is a shop called Babington's—a traditional tea room open since 1893. For some time, the shop was a meeting point for Anglo-Saxons and Roman intellectuals. Incredibly, it remains a tourist attraction to this day!
